Overview
The Drape Tool can be found in the bottom tool bar or via hotkey D.

The Drape Tool allows users to shift the visible vertices of a line to the highest or lowest points in a point cloud at each of their locations.
By default the button will drape to the lowest point. If a user long presses on the icon it will bring up an additional menu for the options to drape high and bring up the drape settings.
Drape Settings
If a user is seeing less than ideal results using the drape tool, long press the icon and go into the drape settings. There a user will find 4 different settings to try for optimizing results for the area they are working in.
Drape Strategy | Definition |
Interpolated (Default Setting) | Interpolated picking with a good balance of edge precision while smoothing flat regions. Best for most tasks. |
General (Averaging) | Moderate point averaging that excludes outliers. Good for most tasks. |
Fine Detail | No averaging. Uses closest individual point. Best for detailed edge work. |
Coarse Smoothing (High Averaging) | High Averaging for point cloud surfaces with lots of noise. Best for flat areas and ghosted datasets. |
